I set myself the task of creating a record label brand, expanding from previous personal vinyl sticker projects, with the eventual result to try to create a more tactile and fleshed out design project than I had previously crafted, resulting in, Intermission Records;
Intermission Records is a new, independent, vinyl-focused record label dedicated to championing the underground electronic music scene. Specializing in genres like techno, hard house, breakbeats, and trance, the label aims to blend retro aesthetics with modern sensibilities.
I aimed for the label’s identity to evoke the spirit of 90s rave culture, pirate radio, and underground club flyers, while maintaining a contemporary edge, as I saw this as a popular design route within the electronic music scene at the moment, helping to maintain a retro but modern, timeless design, with nods to the routes of dance music and to the future.
Intermission aims to be more than just a labelits an experience, a pause from the mainstream, offering listeners and collectors a tactile, nostalgic, and sonically immersive world.
